Overview
The TROEF Dutch energy project is leveraging Carbon Central's platform to track and verify its carbon footprint. The TROEF consortium aims to develop carbon-neutral cities across the Netherlands by bringing together industry leaders and academic institutions, including NEN, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, STEDIN, and others, to create sustainable energy communities.

The TROEF Dutch energy project is leveraging Carbon Central's platform to track and verify its carbon footprint. The TROEF consortium aims to develop carbon-neutral cities across the Netherlands by bringing together industry leaders and academic institutions, including NEN, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, STEDIN, and others, to create sustainable energy communities.
Project Objective
The consortium focuses on enabling peer-to-peer energy trading and CO₂ certificate trading through the Internet of Energy (IoE), connecting communities to accelerate decarbonisation. The initiative seeks to optimise the use of sustainable energy, reduce energy costs through demand response rewards, and enable shared energy generation and storage. Carbon Central supports this by enabling real-time monitoring of energy production and consumption, with all data securely recorded on its immutable Trust Chain for transparency and verification.
